Time capsules are the perfect way to cherish your past and rediscover how far you have come in life. Usually people create time capsules for themselves and for their family, but League City has a time capsule of their own! Community members can become a part of this project by signing the journal, submitting a business card or writing a small paragraph or entire page. The time capsule will be buried in 2012 and opened in 2037. This is one of the unique ways League City honors and appreciates all of its past, present and future residents!

League City has made the list for 100 Best Small Cities in America. There are many factors that contribute to this honor. Its close proximity to the big city life of Houston and perfect day getaway at Galveston Island make League City's location ideal. Clear Lake borders the city limits, and over 7,000 boats call this lake home which makes it the third-largest concentration in the nation! Besides fishing and boating on your own, you can hop on a popular dinner cruise, sunset sail or enjoy a guided fishing charter. Other recreation opportunities include golfing at Cannongate AT Magnolia Creek and Cannongate at South Shore Harbor Country Club and exploring the parks which are included along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. The Big League Dreams Sports Park steals the MVP recreational title of this city. With six baseball fields implementing world famous stadiums like Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park and Wrigley Field as well as indoor soccer, sand volleyball, multifunctional sports pavilion, leagues and tournaments for all ages, nothing comes close to this facility. They also have two restaurants and a full sports bar!

Shopping is made easy with many places to choose from like Bay Colony Town Center, League City Towne Center and Victory Lakes Town Center which have stores ranging from HEB to Home Depot to Macy's and more. For the ultimate shopping experience check out the shops along Main Street in the Historic District. Here you will find vintage and modern day clothes, antiques, gift shops, tea rooms, candle shops. You won't leave with just shopping bags, but also with a full belly. Kelley's The Best in Country Cookin' started in 1983 with 9 employees serving a capacity of 50. Now over 600 employees serve over 1,600 across 7 locations. They serve everything: breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks and seafood as well as low carb and "kiddie" menu options. Red River BBQ has lip-smacking barbeque backup up by southern homemade desserts. They are also the go-to catering place for special events around the city. Whether you are shopping, dining, or just out for a stroll under the towering oak trees, Main Street is entertaining for everyone.

The entertainment doesn't stop there! Events are hosted all year round attracting residents and tourists. Texas Victorian Weekend consists of a Titanic Murder Mystery Dinner, Afternoon Tea & Fashion Show and The Texas Victorian Sweetheart Ball. A lot of events revolve around Clear Lake like The Boat Parade and Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, or in parks like Concerts in the Park, Space City Cruisers Car Show, Wellness Walk and Holiday in the Park Parade and Festival. Other popular events include the Oak Tree Festival, Ballunar Liftoff and holiday.

There are many master-planned communities waiting for people like you to call them home. If you want to become a part of this enjoyable, active and loving community check out New Home Source.
