As a suburb of Columbus, Pickerington, Ohio is a wonderful medium ground between a podunk town, and the fast-paced metropolitan city! At 18,000 residents and growing, Pickerington provides its community with a number of activities and events appropriate for all ages. It offers many outdoor festivities, and means of cultivating the community through museums, and the Pickering Veterans Memorial that will leave you breathless, instilling knowledge about these men and women that put up arms every day to defend our country both stateside, and overseas.
With Pickerington's size the town is able to host many events for the community. In the spring they have PickeringtonKidz Festival, a day geared towards toddlers through 6th grade children, filled with food, inflatable bounce houses, games, prizes, and performances put on by the children, oh, and it is free! Then later in the year is the annual Haunted Village. The residents get together to put on ghost tours, storytelling, retail booths, safe trick or treating, and the forever favorite hayrides! To finish off each year children are allowed to send their letter to Santa, and are promised a quick response back thanks to the quick working elves in the post office!
Aside from the annual events, Pickerington has many year round parks open for your convenience! Victory Park has a beautiful bike trail, disc golf, and an ice rink opened seasonally, and Sycamore Park offers a covered bridge, sporting fields, a pond for fishing, playground, sledding for the cold winter days, and an amphitheater for breezy summer night concerts, open to the public! If you find those summer days to warm, head over to the home of the Tigersharks swim team, Pickerington community swimming pool. The prices are reasonable, allowing for family discounts, and there are lessons offered throughout the summer!
Pickerington is constantly promoting recreation in the community. They offer classes geared towards numerous hobbies and activities like jewelry making, and archeology, as well as encourage sports leagues like basketball, and capture the flag! We all need to slow down every now and then though, so hit up some local treasures Pickerington has to offer whether that be the Motorcycle hall of Fame, a round of golf at the Turnberry golf course, or just a relaxing day at J. Nicole's Day Spa. You see Pickerington has everything you need to build a life around!
