This is a city that's not afraid to show its considerable spirit: as the Visitors' Bureau website proclaims "Irish is an attitude." With a name like Dublin, it's hard to escape the inevitable comparisons to that other Dublin across the sea. But while you should prepare for the best St. Patrick's Day of your life, you don't have to be of Irish descent to enjoy a rollicking good time as a resident of Dublin, Ohio.

Each year during the first week in August the town lights up with a spectacular line-up of Irish bands and performers during the Dublin Irish Festival. Folks come from all over the world to rediscover their heritage, or to simply appreciate good food and music, but you'll be spared the overbooked hotels, and instead get to enjoy a front-row seat to one of the Midwest's most amazing festivals. Just a few activities on the schedule: poets, painters, storytellers, dancing, drinking, and naturally, the largest recorded gathering of redheads in the Midwest. It's hard to resist joining in on the infectious creative and intellectual energy of these few weeks.

But when the crowds go home, Dublin, Ohio is transformed: from raucous festival grounds to a prosperous suburban city. Since Dublin itself is home to over 3000 businesses, you may never feel the need to head to Columbus. In fact, development is underway to make Dublin an even better place to live. The current development project, Bridge Street Corridor, intends to bring together local businesses and pedestrians to create a cultural and economic center. Either way you look at Bridge Street Corridor--as a revival of the old ideal of Main Street, USA, or as the beginning of Ohio's next most important city---it's clear big things are happening in Dublin, and you'll want to be a part of them.

The future of Dublin is in good hands. This is a city that believes in the value of a good education, with good schools that all earned Ohio's highest academic distinctions for the past eight years. Current students are sure to grow into the town's next set of movers and shakers, who will sustain the town's momentum and continue its upward trajectory towards better and higher things. Dublin is not a city for the complacent--but it will richly reward go-getters, innovators, and other big thinkers.

Soon you may hear, "Columbus? Where's that-- is it a suburb of Dublin?" But as a Dublin resident you'll know the answer to that one: a resounding yes. This town on the Scioto River is going places--but then, so are you! Let New Home Source help you find your place in Ohio's next great city.
