Frisco was ranked as the fastest growing city in the nation in 2009; but this great city has humble beginnings as a small town that served wary settlers on cattle drives north from Austin. When the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was later being built through the area, watering stations were needed for the steam engines along the route. Exciting sports and Frisco go hand-in-hand! The Frisco Rough Riders, a regional favorite, play minor league AA baseball in the Dr. Pepper Ballpark. For hockey action come see the Dallas Stars practice or the Texas Tornadoes locally as well. Frisco is also the home of Major League Soccer and the 2010 Western Conference champion team FC Dallas!
