Some things do not belong together. Magnets with the same sign repel each other, and oil and water do not mix. These two concepts are widely known. However, there is always an exception to the rule. Oil and water do in fact mix in one place . . . well, not literally. However, the city of Baytown in Texas has a booming economy due to their involvement in the oil industry. They have many oil refineries including off-shore drilling sites which is where oil and water come together to help Baytown stay economically stable. The Baytown Refinery supplies oil to Exxon-Mobil which has over 10 plants making it one of the top employers. Another thing you should not second guess, is the fact that you belong in Baytown.

Baytown is a great place to visit, but an even greater place to live. There is something to do every day of the year. For water recreation, Pirates Bay Waterpark is perfect. They have a lazy river and also many exciting water rides. There is also Calypso Cove which has a Caribbean-themed water play center, octopus bucket dump, spray guns and more. The newly restored Bayland Marina is back and better than ever since it was destroyed by Hurricane Ike. The marina is the perfect place to embark on a boating adventure. The community swimming pools are monitored by the Parks & Recreation department, which also is in charge of the 42 parks, recreation facilities and programs. The Community Center is the perfect place to host small or large meetings, parties and events. The Wayne Gray Sports Complex has eight sports fields for lovers of every sport. Baytown Nature Center is home to birds, shrimp, crab, fish and welcomes visitors like you to come bask in nature for a picnic, fishing excursion, stroll through Crystal Bay Butterfly Garden, Myra C. Brown Bird Sanctuary and more.

Baytown knows how to celebrate, especially when the holidays roll around. The Fourth of July is perhaps Baytown's favorite holiday because they go all out! There are concerts featuring artists like Robert Earl Keen, Cory Morrow, The Marshall Tucker Band along with a 4th of July Parade. The celebration ends with a bang during the Fireworks Extravaganza. Other events include Summer Concert Series and Music on the Patio at Yepez Vineyard, It's All About Fire Trucks, West Baytown Fall Cleanup, National Night Out and more.

Baytown is a city like no other, and provides people with homes that are unbeatable. New Home Source can help you sort through the listings of new homes, and help you find the perfect match!
