Yarmouth is one of Barnstable County’s best places to spend the summer. The reason? Location, location, location. Bordered by Cape Cod Bay to the north, the Nantucket Sound to the South, Yarmouth is located in an extremely scenic area with much to do outdoors. Enjoy the town’s rivers, ponds and creeks including the Bass River, Matthews Pond, and Muddy Creek, or get out and enjoy the marshy Cape Cod Bay.

Some of the best local restaurants are located near the waters, providing that great morning and afternoon breeze as well as plenty of fresh seafood. Some can’t miss restaurants include Summer Shanty, Sundancer’s and Olympia Fish House Restaurant. Additionally, the area is not short of great local entertainment. Enjoy art and historical artifacts at places like Bass River Designs, Ann Sullivan Gallery and The Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Though the whole of Yarmouth is fun and has many interesting things to indulge in, the best way to enjoy the city is on its south side. There you’ll find four distinct golf courses, as well as beautiful beaches.

Yarmouth has great blend of modern and historic buildings, some dating at far back as the 19th Century. However, there’s plenty of great new suburban communities cropping up in the area as well.

Fun-fact about Yarmouth: its home to the headquarters of the International Fund for Animal Welfare, a charity organization with the sole duty to protect the welfare of all animal on the planet.

As for transport, some major routes run through the area including US Route 6, Massachusetts Route 28 and 6A. There is also a rail and several bike paths making commuting easy and affordable. The town is served by the Barnstable Municipal Airport located just over the town line as well as the Logan International Airport which located in Boston.

If you want to make that long awaited move to Massachusetts, head to Yarmouth! But don’t forget to do your research on newhomesource.com, first, where you’re sure to find your dream home.
