Verona is one of the fastest growing cities in Wisconsin with loads of attractions, history, as well as unique entertainment spots, indoors and outdoors alike. The Military Ridge State Trail, which cuts right through Downtown Verona. This 40-mile trail runs through two state parks as well as some farms and forests. It also leads to platforms where wildlife can easily be spotted and viewed.
During warm summers cool off at Fireman’s Park Beach, one of the hottest places in Verona. It stays open from June to late August. The beach has lots of facilities like water slides, diving boards, and a floating bouncer. There are also picnic tables, changing rooms, and a concessions stand. You can also fish for some bluegill and bass at the docks.
The restaurants here also give the locals options for some great food. Most of the food is fresh from the farms. One of the best places to try some good food made from scratch and farm fresh produce is the Jordandal Cookhouse. The Cookhouse serves salads, turkey, waffles, soup and pork chops among many other mouthwatering dishes. Other local restaurants here are Monte’s Grill and Bar, as well as the sports bar 5th Quarter, which usually serves pizza and fish fries every Friday.
