You are invited to meet the community of Holiday! Holiday is a census-designated place that is located in the southwest of Pasco County, Florida. The community is situated at an elevation of 16 feet, at 28°11’2” north latitude and 82°44’34” west longitude. Holiday provides a wonderful landscape, due to its location close to the Anclote Anchorage Preserve State Park and Lake Tarpon. Major roads that take you into the community of Holiday include U.S. Route 19, which is passing through the town from north to south, and State Route 84.
Holiday represents a young community and was established in the 1960s. The development of the community is closely related to William W. Boyd. He was the president of the Loan Association of Tarpon Springs and First Federal Savings; he had the idea to build a community in the area that is now Holiday. The community has increased, and at the census of 2010, residents were counted at more than 22,000.
Holiday’s residents benefit from a wide range of facilities. Education is served by the Pasco County School System and includes one high school, one middle school and three primary schools. The recreational opportunities are diverse. For those who love to have an active life and practice outdoor activities, the most interesting attractions include Key Vista Nature Park, Anclote River Park, Anclote Gulf Park or Fred Howard Park. In close proximity of the town you may enjoy three important wilderness areas: Robert Crown Wilderness Area, Pasco Palms Preserve and James E. Grey Preserve. Due to its location very close to the shoreline and close to many bodies of water, activities like fishing, swimming, boating or sailing are very easy to enjoy in Holiday. There are also several restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés where you can enjoy your free time in the company of your family or friends.
