Hendricks County, Indiana, is the second-fastest-growing county in the state and the third-largest county in the Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson metro region, and for a good reason. Hendricks County is widely considered one of the best counties in Indiana to raise a family and purchase a home. Located ten minutes west of the City of Indianapolis, Hendricks County offers residents the good life, thanks to its diversity, affordable housing options, incredible healthcare system, and top-ranked public and private schools. If that wasn't enough, it has become widely known as a destination for fun and adventure with its many attractions, events, restaurant and shopping opportunities, and its many destinations for outdoor recreation.
There are many different parks throughout Hendricks County, offering an array of family-friendly outdoor activities for folks of all age groups. McCloud Nature Park in North Salem offers six miles of trails for hiking and access to Big Walnut Creek, a popular spot for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. A four-mile stretch of Indiana's National Road Heritage Trail, a 150-mile continuous system of multi-use trails runs through the county and is popular with pedestrians and bicyclists.
In Plainfield, Splash Island Water Park offers indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. Brownsburg is home to numerous parks with trails, playgrounds, sports fields, splash pads, and more. The Hendricks County Museum is located in Danville. Of course, nearby Indianapolis is home to two major league sports clubs, the world's largest children's museum and the Indy 500, the world's largest one-day sporting event.
There are 100 master-planned developments throughout the county, in towns and cities like Brownsburg, Plainfield, Avon, and the county seat, Danville. 27 new home builders are there as well, constructing new homes throughout the county, as well as in the neighboring counties of Boone County, Putnam County, and Marion County.
