Designed by a former Olympic athlete, this track is the perfect place to discover the world's fastest sledding sport. Other popular winter sports here include hockey and figure skating. You can even practice all three of the town's beloved sports at the Musegon Winter Sports Complex.
If you consider yourself more of a fan than an athlete, don't worry--there will be games to attend. Not only your neighbors' and friends,' but minor league teams, and local sports teams to cheer on as well. The Muskegon Lumberjacks, a US Hockey League team, routinely dazzle hockey fans. In the spring, the minor league team the Muskegon Channel Cats, are the ones to watch. The Thunderbird Raceway and Winston Motor Speedway bring the state of Michigan's love affair with cars and auto racing, to Muskegon's shores. Speaking of shores, those are perhaps Muskegon's biggest draw. Eleven parks--including three state parks-- are available to visitors and residents alike to help them experience the beauty of Lake Michigan. Pere Marquette Beach is said to be one of the area's best, so start there.
