The city of Atlanta is divided into various districts, one of which is called Midtown Atlanta. Midtown Atlanta is the second largest business district in Atlanta and is located between the commercial and financial districts of Downtown to the South and Buckhead to the North. Midtown Atlanta is often identified by the areas along its business district which include Peachtree Street and Historic Midtown as well as the residential area east of Piedmont Avenue and south of Piedmont Park. Other neighborhoods include Loring Heights, Ansley Park, Home Park, Sherwood Forest and Atlantic Station.

It is also the fastest growing residential district in Atlanta. The homes here come in a wide variety with some of them being found in traditional suburban neighborhoods while some are located near the city and have spectacular views. These often range from condos, small houses and townhouses. Moreover, there is always constant development with many projects breaking ground each year. Consequently, there are many walking and cycling paths and lanes which allow alternative transport for the area's residents. The area has great proximity to most tourist attraction sites as well.

Midtown Atlanta is often known with its cultural attractions and unique urban layout. It also has a vibrant art scene with the Museum of Design Atlanta, Fox Theater, Woodruff Arts Center, Ferst Center for the Arts, the Center for Puppetry Arts, High Museum of Art, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the 14th Street Playhouse.

Moreover, there are also some iconic and notable buildings and areas which include but are not limited to Bank of America Plaza, AT&T Midtown Center, Arts Center Station, Ansley Park Golf Course, Brookwood Station, Fourteenth Street Playhouse, Habersham Memorial Hall, Piedmont Driving Club, One Coca-Cola Plaza, 1180 Peachtree and Atlantic Center.

The parks in the Midtown area include Winn Park, Dale Way Park, Piedmont Park, Loring Heights Park, Ansley Park and Yonah Park to mention only a few. There are also small lakes like Piedmont Lake.

Great retail areas are also varied with Colony Square shopping center and Peachtree Square shopping center being among some of the best by offering great brands and goods.

Some of the schools and institutes of higher learning that serve the Midtown area include Henry W. Grady High School, the Children’s School, the Goddard School, Inman Middle School, Springdale Park Elementary School, Georgia Institute of Technology, John Marshall Law School as well as the Atlanta division of the Savannah College of Art and Design, SCAD.
