Pittstown is one of last remaining strongholds of old-fashioned farm living. Delaware Valley High School offers a standard curriculum as well as industrial technology and business classes. As with most small towns, the dining and shopping opportunities tend to be unique and interesting, serving as both tourist attractions and businesses. The inn was originally established in the 1760’s, not too long before the American Revolution, and has been a host to the community in one way or another ever since. The menu offers a nice mix of Asian cuisine and seafood with some old favorites, like nachos and burgers, thrown in. It also hosts live music most evenings for your enjoyment.
Even though Pittstown is definitely “small-town America”, it is not without more modern amenities. There are two airports within 3 miles of the town: Sky Manor Airport and Alexandria Field. Sky Manor is regional and even has a café on-site for your dining enjoyment. It offers flying lessons for both helicopters and airplanes. Alexandria Airfield was built over an old cornfield in 1944 and offers flight lessons as well as plane rentals and sky-diving. It also hosts airport tours partly due to its significance in New Jersey aviation history.
