"City living with a touch of country" is the motto of the city of New Berlin, Wisconsin. Situated 15-miles west of Milwaukee in Waukesha County, this beautiful community was first settled in 1836. Named after New Berlin, New York, it remained a rural community until the late 1940s when the population suddenly exploded. It retains a semi-rural appearance making it an appealing home base for professional families who work in Milwaukee.

The city of New Berlin maintains 14 city parks offering everything from sports fields and courts, hiking trails and playgrounds for young children. The city also maintains both a disc golf course and a full 18-hole championship golf course. The Glacial Drumlin State Trail is an incredible multipurpose trail that runs for more than 50-miles and remains open year round. The trail has sites for camping and hunting, and incorporates the scenic Ice Age Trail.
Ridge Cinemas in New Berlin are perfect for a family night out, while the Marcus Majestic Theatre in nearby Brookfield is better suited to an adult night out. The Marcus Majestic provides comfortable seating for a dinner-movie experience, with two auditoriums featuring massive 'UltraScreens'. Families with younger children can enroll them for dance lessons at the local Castle of the Arts. This dance school focuses on a more relaxed style of dance instruction that all children respond to.
The School District of New Berlin manages seven public schools covering all grades, while there are two private schools catering to elementary grades. Nearby Milwaukee has a great selection of universities and colleges for higher education, including the University of Wisconsin.
