Jenny Wiley, a famous frontier woman who faced capture and eventually escaped, also lends her name to the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in nearby Prestonsburg, which is home to Dewey Lake and three unique trails for mountain biking and hiking.
If you find yourself in Prestonsburg, play a round of golf on StoneCrest Golf Course’s championship caliber greens or take in a show at the Kentucky Opry. If adventure is more your style, visit Bob Amos Park in Pikeville instead, where you can go whitewater rafting, kayaking, zip lining, or horseback riding as your heart desires.
