While the home is beautiful, the quality is all basic builder grade and the care and attention promised by the sales end of the transaction quickly drops away after they receive your money. Questions post sale are often met with annoyance or passing it off to the next person and the next person.

I purchased very illusioned with the new house, the pretty features, the "warranty". Zero Defects was a fallacy. The "Call us anytime, send us all your questions, if you have any problem" was another lie. Nobody returns my phone calls, emails and the H.O.A. blames Lennar and Lennar blames the HOA. The Lennar loan was immediately sold off to a third party. Within a month, the house started having problems and nobody responds. The water does not come out hot, the roof and gutters are extremely noisy when it rains, the blinds are of the worst quality and some are lopsided, the carpet was ...

Prior to move in we noticed laundry door did not shut- mentioned to Jeff he looked at it said he’d handle- nothing no- Phil called spoke to him. No one cared to follow up! Great customer care!:( i came for a visit a month after closing, the laminate floor creeks everywhere you step on it downstairs, is it missing something underneath???- a new floor should not creek everywhere you step. It took us meeting with 6 Lennar people to come up with a resolution. Not the easiest to work with except one person (Patrick) stood up and put the problem in their court, where it was to begin with, and we finally agreed.

Half Truths

We were lead to believe that if we put a deposit down to hold the lot that when the house was actually framed we would be able to get our deposit back if we did not like the house. One week after we put the deposit down we had to pay an earnest money. If I would have seen the completed house before the earnest money, I would have had serious second thoughts. I also made it abundantly clear that I plans on paying cash, but was still hounded by Lennar Lending to go through the loan process. A total waste of time.
Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Bruce, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear you felt you were misled. Lennar lies

Lennar lies and has poor planning. Throughout the buying process, Lennar promised that there’d be landscaping by Lennar or the HOA in a certain key area that was influential in our buying decision. After taking possession of the house, Lennar deflected to the HOA. The HOA which is owned by Lennar outright refused any landscaping. The area in question remains rocks and trash - a permanent blemish on the neighborhood. Due to poor planning by Lennar, 2 months after moving into this house we still don’t have mail service. Since Lennar is building by the mailbox still, it is expected that we ...

Financing was great experience. However, I wasn’t pleased with being told the HOA was not going to be an issue-I’ve still not been able to get my approval and the HOA sends out warning and threats weekly. You shouldn’t lie to prospective buyers. I also am not satisfied with the materials used -such as fence materials and glass shower doors or the cheap plastic bath tub/shower stall. Not to mention a “hybrid “ water heater that doesn’t heat at all. I now need to spend $5000 to change it out. My side yard is exposed to the public- who regularly throw trash on my yard and dog poop. Plus the yard ...

Buying a home should be an exciting time, but after a life-sucking buying experience the excitement is long gone. We were lied to by the community representative. Multiple issues with the lender. Couple that with once you're in the house issue after issue pops up. Quality control issues that were missed while by the builder and then us while being rushed through our new home orientation. The things we did point out still not being done when we move in. Looking more closely at all the finishes around the house and realizing how sloppy the craftsmanship is. Drywall chunks still around the ...

Lennar choose to use Rannai Tankless water heaters. what they also CHOOSE to do was NOT include a way to control it with out a service call. NOBODY knew anything about the heater. NOTHING. After many hours of extreme frustration over 3 days and disbelief this is actually happening, Ryan came thru after learning what to do to get it running again. This was unnecessary frustration if Lennar has spent the $155 to install a controller to the unit, so thanks for that time wasted. Heres a tip... We don't have any real problems with the Lennar people on the front lines, those we dealt with face-to-face. Our sales rep was terrific and our Lennar Mortgage rep was terrific also, but his underwriter/manager was an unreasonable nightmare, demanding documents and substantiation two days before scheduled closing, when that stuff should have been asked for weeks in advance. The stress that caused was enough to register on the Richter Scale. Beyond that, there were two big irritants, one as we were going through the buying process and one after we moved in. First, Lennar's marketing hype ...

They wont budge on anything, you want an outlet somewhere? Too bad! You offer them 200$ to put the outlet there? Nope nada! Any upgrades to materials have to come out of pocket (not through mortgage) and you have to use their vendor who will gouge you because they know you cant get additional offers. Default floors are not waterproof, this is the pnw, we get water. Site mgr is a little man (matt) who will try to get you in trouble for checking on the progress of your half million investment. Cute floor plans, but they phone it in and then act like theyre doing you a favor

Felt like my concerns during build were brushed aside. Have lived here for a few months and still finding things that are weird/not straight, clumps of texture that we didn't catch on walk thru. There were several areas that need attention in my home buying experience. 1- I noted to the seller representative that the address was wrong on official documents. They stated that it was only on their documents and not an issue. I repeated that my concern was that the address was registered wrong with the city. I was repeatedly told this was not the case. In the end, it was the car and the seller had to reach out to the city to correct the address. 2-the kitchen cabinets where damaged on approximately 50% of the doors. Lennar attempted to repair the damage using an abrasive pad. When I ...

Lennar has gotten so big they have lost sight of customer service and quality home building. It appears to be more about the sale and getting the houses up as fast as possible no matter what. Quality of the homes is seriously lacking. The interior finish work is extremely sloppy. The materials used are sub-standard. The interior paint job is one thin coat of flat paint. After third-party home inspection multiple areas were not to code and had to be redone. The home buying process is cumbersome and not buyer friendly.
