My husband and I were so excited to move into our new-build Pulte home, but the excitement was stolen from us when the week we closed, as the place was a mess. Scratched floors, splattered paint on the floors and countertops, direr windows, missing pieces to blinds, loose siding on the house, and a few others. Pulte cares about their quality, but the contractors they hire do not. We have lived here for a month now, and they are still fixing a few things, but the home is beautiful, exactly what we envisioned, and we look forward to making this our life-long home.

Mixed Experience: Workmanship Issues and Delayed Response with Pulte Homes"

"Although my overall sales experience with Pulte Homes was positive, I must admit that I encountered some unexpected workmanship issues after closing on my new house. The quality of the construction did not meet my expectations, and I found it disappointing that the reported issues were not addressed in a timely manner. It would have been more satisfying if Pulte Homes had been more responsive and prompt in resolving these concerns, as it left me feeling frustrated with the state of my new home."

Sloppy work/ poor craftsmanship. It feels and looks very rushed. There are holes in walls that we are finding in random places that were missed during walk through, globs of paint everywhere on the walls even after pointing out and fixing over 50 during walk through, uneven cabinets etc. They also have an awful warranty. Flooring isn't even covered! We have only been in our home 2 months and the floor is already coming up and they are saying it’s not covered under warranty.

closing was done prematurely, drive way and Sod was not ready. Buyer should be advised what to expect after closing. Causing inconvenience. Our closing was on April 5th and as of today JUNE 3rd., we do have Sod on the Ground.

Rushed finishing work to close on house

Rushed to do walk through as the cleaners scurry out of front door. Expected to do a thorough walk through by myself, not advised to bring others to help. Many missed issues and then no further clean up after painters and others had to come in to fix the things seen on first walk through. Very sloppy, many paint spots all over carpet and tile. All tile grout filled with sand and dirt requiring many hours of me cleaning. Fuse for fridge went out within a week of moving in. A Shower drain not draining and they can't come out to fix for 2 weeks then they schedule it wrong and can't come for ...

Build quality could have been lot better compared to neighboring home builders. Abit High price for what I got. Mortgage APR deal details are not properly shared prior to purchase.. mortgage and sales team wasted my closing costs credit .. very very bad issues observed pre-inspection.. ready to move in home is there in market for 3.5 months and lot of thin airline cracks seen inside and outside . Too much delay on fixing minor items which missed fixture during closure.. service and build quality could have been lot better..

Had a good customer experience overall. Very disappointed with the quality of my home. You can tell things were done rushed with no care how it would turn out. Painting throughout the house was horrible. Hard to believe that was done professionally. There were a lot of scratches on everything (appliances, countertops, floors, tubs, walls, baseboards, cabinets).

The most important things like roof, structure, foundation appear to be just fine. I just think fit and finish on cosmetic things lack true craftsmanship and attention to detail for what I would consider luxury homes at this price point. Pulte “sells” their internal QC program and it was nonexistent on the interior finishes phase of the house. I purchased a Pulte home in a different state over 10 years ago for a third of the price and I was much more impressed. This go-around was definitely disappointing. Home buying options in Santa Fe are limited and I would not say don’t consider Pulte, ...

This was about an average experience. We paid for a full home and got an almost completed one. It's still not completed from items identified months ago. Communication was submitted oar to start became very good near closing and has become almost non existent again. Pulte basically acts as a scheduler for a lot of sub contractors. So I strongly recommend yiu pay for a pre drywall inspection, a pre close inspection, and try to get an expert to come woth yiubduring the walk through. If yiur walk through dorsnt take 4+ hours, I guarantee you are missing something and it's a real pain to get ...

Poor workmanship due to rushing experienced leak in master bedroom on my very first day of moving in. Cable wiring incorrectly done and electrical wiring as well. Lots of issues still going on and have been waiting for resolution almost 2 months now.

The process went smoothly until 2 weeks before closing. Then the wheels fell off. Construction, Title and Mortgage are not tightly aligned. Many issues arose relating to the backend processes we assumed were handled, but were not. Issue with an added soft water loop not properly detailed on the plans. Appears to be a major HVAC design issue/flaw that will need to be addressed. Communication during the transition to ownership wasn't what it should be. Felt like once they had our money, we were no longer a priority. HOA issues, location issues, USPS issues. Lots of details missed. ...

We had a great experience with our Sales person Maria. She was very responsive to all our questions. Pulte can improve on their workmanship by making sure everything was completed prior to closing. We had a lot of items on the walk through that were never completed and still waiting to be completed a month after the closing. Also clean up of sidewalks should have been done as stains from constructions are very noticeable and ruins the curb appeal of the house and the neighborhood. We had a technician come to our house and he noticed the stains on the sidewalks in front of our house right ...

Overcharges by 100% for basic materials, easily found on Amazon. If a ceiling light fan sells for $200, Pulte charges $700, etc.

We built a Pulte home in 2007 and then just completed another recently(March, 2023) and the quality of work, project management, communication and value have dropped significantly. Pulte has put more focus on profits than the customer experience which is why we would not recommend buying a Pulte home in today's environment.

We absolutely love our home but it feels like a façade. The things we marked during the final blue tape inspection were not completed when we moved in. The blue tape was just removed with no repairs. When we had some of the things repaired, the guys repairing them said it was incomplete. The custom shower was installed incorrectly with the water flowing away from the drain, and after a few months it has yet to be repaired. We have multiple work orders in and have documented everything, nonetheless no one seems to ever come repair the major issues. The Garage door is having issues and the ...

Although, was not 100% completed by our close date. We trusted Pulte's Contruction Manager to complete our Punch List within a reasonable period shortly after our close. We are now over 30 days since our close and unfortunately, many of our punch list items remain incomplete or poorly done. Because we are now 30 days past our close date, Pulte's Construction Manager now refuses to respond to our texts and emails regarding the open issues. I suggest the buyers beware and do not close until your home is complete and satisfactory.

Once home is signed for Pultie s very slow to respond to home issues let along give direction on how to get things fixed. Been here 7 weeks and still no back yard. Pultie won’t come and fix things, like painting, leftover blue tape for 10 months! No one wants to take responsibility for home issues, granted they are little but paying what we did for a home we shouldn’t be treated this way.

For what we paid…we are shocked at how many problems we have. A punch list is expected, but you’re only as good as your subs. And they are terrible. House was filthy upon moving in…walls/pillars visibly not straight…many windows had scrape marks on the trims…paint all over our wood floors which also had quite a few dings (and this was a very expensive upgrade)…pocket doors scraping the jambs (both of which have visible damage)…many broken roof tiles, etc. The list is too long, and many of these things should have been caught by our super (who we like very much) if he had only spent a few ...

They will rush you into your decisions and promise lots of things but damaged doors, holes in walls and ceilings, broken fixtures, fading paint, the list goes on. Paying half million for a house you expect a level of quality that just isn't there. 2022 must have been a bad year for laborers.

We moved into a Catalina. We are still waiting for punch repairs. Finish work is not great. Cabinets are already slitting. Too many items still being found to list. Wall finishes are thin and scrape off with cleaning. Main issues: paint, tile, cabinets, pavers, garage flash installed backward, defective hot water heater. Etc.

Our construction manager, Evan, was really good and went above and beyond. In comparison to our other new builds - everything else regarding the Pulte experience has been average to below average. There is not much of a follow up after you get the keys. The sales agent completely disappears (at least ours did). And lastly, make sure to get all issues with the home resolved before moving in because it can possibly take months to get things fixed under the warranty.
